Heavenly Hugs

Hello all, I guess it's time to jump on the blog bandwagon.

For all who know me well you know my life has its fair share of trials, storms, whatever. But I don't wanna talk about those because "I think myself happy" and thinking about those is NOT thinking myself happy. Due to the absence of certain people from my life one thing I've been missing lately is hugs. Hugs are important to me; I'm a fairly touchy feely person. Not being hugged and held when I'm having a good day is bad enough but when I'm goin' through the storm it's even worse. But God is pretty good at catching up with our needs, wants, desires etc. Psalm 37:4 tells us to

"Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires."
New Living Translation

Now God, being a Spirit, doesn't often give us hugs, at least not in the traditional sense, but He does have His way of wrapping us up in His arms and letting us know we are loved. Earlier today I posted a scripture on Facebook and a former teacher of mine commented with something that for me was simply a heavenly hug. She told me:

"God adores you, Lana Bible, of this I am certain."

Yeah, that's it, I know, not worth all this fuss, well, maybe not to you but certainly to me it is.Not only have I been missing the hugs of a certain lady, I've been missing knowing easily and readily that I was loved, cherished, adored, whatever you want to call it. I'm a bit insecure and I need to hear that sort of thing. So all that in mind you can imagine that for a non-Pentecostal acquaintance from "the world" to tell me this was simply a hug from on high. Oh thank You Jesus for wrapping me in Your arms again.

Psalm 91:1-2
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."
King James Version

My message for everyone whose life is off kilter today is to run to Jesus, hide in the shadow of the Almighty. Let Him be your refuge and He will care for you. When you hide in His arms and abide in the secret place of the Most High your life may still seem "off kilter" but you will know for a fact its on course in the end and He will hold you and hug you every day.

God Bless.
